Volunteer Membership
Volunteer firefighters train for emergency responses when called upon. The call may come at any time, and in almost every situation, sometimes under stressful and emotional circumstances.
Our volunteers tell us about the tremendous rewards that come with their work. We know there are other people out there with the same courage, commitment and compassion.
We want to welcome you into the team at Central Berkeley Fire & EMS.
Weekly training sessions ensure the best possible response time, knowledge of the most appropriate techniques for each situation and familiarization with the very specialized equipment required for firefighting and safety. Volunteer Firefighters, EMT’s and Paramedics are members of the community with a will to improve their skills while protecting life and property.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
– 18 Years of Age
– Physically able to perform the tasks and duties of the job
– A valid drivers license
– Attend weekly training
– Live and/or work in the departments area

Whitesville Rural Fire Department
The Whitesville Rural Fire Department is a combination department of Full Time, Part Time, and Volunteers. The department roughly covers the area from the intersection of Highway 176 and Highway 17A going North and Northwest almost into Moncks Corner.
The department has three stations, two of which are manned 24 hours a day. If you live or work in this area and would like to apply to be a volunteer, use the link below for the online application.
Cross Rural Fire Department
The Cross Rural Fire Department is a combination department of Part Time and Volunteers. The department roughly covers the area from the intersection of Short Cut Road and Highway 6, along with parts of Lake Moultrie.
